Indeed. My points for similar transactions have posted on one card, and the other card should post soon (statement cycle 28th).

And I'd be guessing that if YOUR points hadn't come you would make an enormous fuss and make sure that the credit card company and anyone else who would listen knew that you'd bought them especially for the ...... and that you were going to ................ with the money and how dare they!! AND other people are doing this AND it's not fair.

Some of us (myself included) have been asked for our phone numbers while purchasing cards at the concierge desk. I suppose I should start giving my landline (which gets used only for the internet!).

Therein lies the privacy issue...
Having said that, just be sensible about the use of this card and you will be fine.

I went a step ahead. I made sure the "purchase" posts as a purchase before buying my 2nd and subsequent cards. If it hadn't, at worst I'd have lost points on a $500 spend.

TBH, I'm not expecting anyone to call me any time soon and if they do, I'm more than willing to be patient with them and have them explain to me what if anything I've done wrong.

Prudent thing to do.... One can never be too sure about the subtle variations different credit card companies can throw at us.

How would they get your telephone number if you had bought the cards from the concierge desk?

In this case it was supplied.

However I am not sure why giving your number or not is at all relevant.

If WF decides there is something suspicious, they can just turn the card/s off...stop selling your more etc, in which case you will most likely call them.

Acting like an "ostrich" is not going to make any difference to WF whether they act or not. It just means that you will have no idea why till you front the concierge desk, or call them.

Well I investigated at a CORP post office today with two scan machines.
Would not read Tax invoice.
Told that all tax invoices need to be done at counter.
Told by staff and manager XS card will not be accepted for Tax as per head office....may get through if not caught swiping last minute at counter.
Can someone PM me a CURRENT Post office(private owned) that will accept XS to pay tax bill over the counter in Melbourne.
I will PM before posting any more of my findings today...ie. Supposedly TAX and Utility bills are different??????

The one is St Kilda Road (http://auspost.com.au/pol/app/showpop/381683) are pretty good with all things relating to bill payments.

Is it possible to make a private forum/topic on here, or would it require a new site/www.?

Invite only style, so others who just become members cant access it. ie: come across topic via web search, join as new member. as in "spies amongst us" ;)

== sorry if i spoke bad, not wanting to offend ==

I do know of a forum already set up that has private areas....

That is just plain weird and not in a good way. Why would head office mandate that xs cards aren't to be used?

My guess, because of the additional work load and them not earning any thing on the transaction.

Do you mind sharing:
* the process of registration, and
* the arrangement regarding picking up the card every fortnight

Cheers

She took the details from my licence - asked for an email address and gave me her business card - that was it

I can drop her an email or phone call and advise a time of pick up and she will have it ready for me.

Will let you know next fortnight how it goes.

I know a forum so secret, only I have access

That's not much of a forum. Do you talk to yourself?

I heard that it is possible to do that in your own head, and completely bypass the technology :p

Thanks penegal for the chat on Monday and I have finally brought myself up-to-date on reaading this thread.

Very interesting. Will advise any success once I can visit WSF/WDX and see the gatekeeper.
