What I ate today - the food thread

Light liquid "dinner" for me.
Lots of cheaper places in Melbo closed as they do not want to pay staff public hols penalty pay rates.
Some of the price gougers on South bank open tho.
Great place to be, ...

Home pizza definitely better than room service!
Just looked at some of the prices of restaurants on South Bank.
Wow, pure (legal) extortion!

5 of my Salami (cacciatore, calabrese, pork, venison, Hungarian) and a Salumi (capocollo) from a few days ago + tonight’s dinner - chicken spun on a GGA Weber with a chunk of nectarine

its good to be home eating my food - food in Europe {Italy, Austria, Germany, Chech, and France (Paris)} was a generally disappointing - I had high expectations, way way too high in hindsight

Wow. It's not easy to find good coppa. Do you take orders for express/emergency delivery to fellow Tasmanians formerly from the NW Coast??

Looks great.
I know how good it tastes thanks to the packs you kindly gifted me. The smoked cheese was great as well.
Travel is wonderful, but it is lovely to come home and have some home cooking.
I trust that you also have a nice bottle to accompany the meal 😉

Glad to hear you enjoyed it

Mrsdrron went with the western meal and began with the same amusee bouche. The next course was more like a Japanese dish with raw prawns and Kobashira which is a shellfish adductor muscle said to be a delicacy and rarely found on menus. She didn’t like it. I did but not the quinoa.

The rest of her dishes.
First the scallop and vegetables Mille feuille.

Then the rockfish.

The beef.

Absolutely perfect medium rare.
And dessert.

She really liked her meal.
The menu.
