What's your Uber experience?

We only use Comfort/SUV when going to the airport as we normally have 2 large luggage. Last time I called Comfort and got Camry as usual but half of the boot was full of driver's stuff and could fit just one. The driver told us to put the other one inside the car. About an hour later after arrival, I got an email saying I was charged $20 cleaning fee. Looks like SUV only from now.

File a complant for a refund.

Didi is always cheaper up here (Nth Qld) but they don't show up and for some reason are not allowed at the airport either.
Also have had Uber drivers give me a card for Didi and tell me they pay better - shame they don't arrive and I end up cancelling and going back to Uber

I am happy to be howled down.

It is my experience/opinion - having tried all modes of transport and my intolerance to anxiety that attends late driver or no show before flights - leads me to booking premium silver service or company like Hughes for 90-120 from most suburbs in Melb is worth it.

Fully appreciate everyone’s circs and priorities are different. Uber surge/ratings/reviews ‘conundrum’ and less than ideal experiences on my part mean I never use them.

I only use DiDi to MEL when I am solo pax - if the Ette is with me it’s Jimmy’s Silver device all the way - but he is up around $125 from MEL to home so a cheap DiDi rate just too hard to pass up

Had 3 attempted trips from MCY lately - Uber just sits there spinning its wheel, never finding drivers. Sometimes it finds drivers but they all cancel.

Each time hopped in a taxi.

2 DiDi drivers cancel on me today
I've had that happen too.

DiDi is cheaper but their drivers seem to cancel more frequently. IME the cancellation can be after expecting them to arrive in eg 12 mins and then actually waiting that long ...

And the X mins away when initially booking has often been a joke.

Still, it works most of the time with DiDi. :)

Actual Uber drivers tell me, and who knows if it's correct, that if an Uber driver cancelled the way DiDi drivers do, they'd be penalised or booted from Uber.

Well, you will use Uber ....
No sympathy !!
Signed : DiDi driver

Didi has been my first choice these days but half the time I had to switch to Uber. Didi often came from far away like 8+mins and I live pretty much in the city (2 min walk to post code 2000) and Uber was normally 1-3 mins. Didi at SYD was really bad also. Past 5 times, only once I got Didi as they either cancelled or didn't accept the job.

It's NOT the drivers cancelling !!
You will find this hard to believe, but it is the DiDi app algorithm that cancels the job. It happens after 8 mins, or if driver heading in 'wrong direction' ....even when on One-Way street !!
App doesn't accept One-Way street as a reason to be heading wrong way. Driver has about 60 seconds to make a turn, or app will cancel the job !!
I have been in sight of a passenger, just 20 metres away, and the job cancelled. I pull up and speak to passenger, to ask, WHY CANCEL ??
Person says, they didn't cancel.
I know it wasn't me either !!
I have asked a DiDi supervisor, when this happened ( again ) to me. I was told, that job cancelled, because I did it !! I went off my brain at the idiot, and just before he hung-up on me, he said, he tried to change his story to 'passenger cancelled'.
DiDi are completely hopeless, but they have reasonable fare jobs, and bonuses for weekends.
