Woolworths backflips - QF points are coming back

I am certainly no fan of the new Woolworths Rewards programme but it does make me wonder why I can buy a Woolworths gift card (electronic) via NRMA and save $10 on an outlay of $200 but I have to spend $2000 at Woolworths to save the same amount (or accept a measly 870 QFF points)

Very good point.

I wonder if you're able to double dip if you buy gift cards in store and then use the gift card in store to pay too?

It is ironic wow own all those poker machines yet they have not "gamified" the new program. Me Aldi most items...... Milk and other basics with 5% gift cards to wow on big shops.
Hope they have the infrastructure to read phone app cards now!

Of course you can double dip with discount gift cards. But purchasing a woolworths gift card will not earn points, this is a long standing principle.

I forgot but I also receive 285 QFF points by paying for the gift card with my Amex card (at 1.5 per$) so you can knit your own Rewards scheme without much help from Woolworths.

A big weekly shop gives only one opportunity to make you buy stuff you didn't want.

True, but knowing I'm being screwed on all those shops compared to previously makes me shop with them less. I know for a fact I'm spending less (with them at least). Their loss.

Knowledge is power as they say.

WW are kicking off attempt 3 with double points for all purchases from the deli, meat and F&V departments until September 27.

A little bit underwhelming but hopefully it is up from here.

If that's their 'launch' offer, then I don't expect much more to come!

I'm trying to figure out whether to start a general thread for offers or just integrate them in the targeted offer thread. I guess it depends on how many general offers the new system gives out.

I was worried that I'd receive a great offer (I burst out laughing when I typed that) as we are o/s at the moment. Looks like I didn't need to worry.

I would suggest a new thread ... the game has changed ...

It isn't all purchases from Deli and Seafood. Just the behind the counter stuff. Thus stock from the deli cheese bar, deli microwave meals, premade soups, the frozen seafood lines, etc won't count.

Temp cards are valid for 6 months from first scan. They will earn, but will not redeem if not registered.

They are removing orange tickets on the shelf with all orange stationary getting removed from stores. It is possible a new version of the orange tickets will return at some point down the line, possibly offering bonus points on selected items, similar to the extra members only specials of the original EDR program.

So I just updated my 'redemption settings' on Woolworths Rewards and it states

Your request to convert your savings to Qantas Points has been processed. Your Woolworths Dollars will now be converted to Qantas Points and transferred to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account on 15/12/2016. Please allow up to 7 days for your Qantas Points to appear in your account.

Seems like along time to process any points over to QFF

I don't understand why they are doing this. The old EDR system converted to QFF weekly at the latest, normally after each earning transaction. For some reason, they are chosing to covert to QF in bulk once every 3 months.

I don't understand why they would want to do it in bulk every 3 months either. It's really bad form

[-]Where did you find 'redemption settings'? I haven't been able to find it.[/-]

Edit: Never mind, I just spotted jsd's post in the new thread.

I'm guessing this saves WW admin costs.

They can also see in advance how much the periodic payment to QFF is going to cost them. I've seen a reference which indicates this will probably be a quarterly transfer.

If WW/QFF get too much backlash over the arrangement they may change the transfer date to make it more frequent.
