Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

I canned my WWR card a month or so ago.
Might sign the cat up to see if I get some targeted offers I can use.

Sorry the clay cat litter is cheaper locally at Coles... One of the few success stories of the WWR programs.

But I'm wandering

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

I tend to shop small so frequently would only accrue 30 QFF points per shop, about twice a week. But since the Woollie$ cash system I've accured $10 woollydollar$ pretty quick. Now if I truly can trade those for 870 QFF points I've done pretty well, I think.

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

What I noticed in Woolworths on my last shop was that almost NOTHING was on special that I normally buy. I'm used to seeing about a quarter of the shop on special in a given week but there were only a couple of tiny discounts.

It's almost as though Woolies are going broke and are making all the rookie mistakes trying to get out of trouble and just making it worse.

Wish I'd sold my shares long ago.

For xmas, you will find hardly anything on sale at Coles or WW.

Wow! (no ASX pun intended) Mrs Warks spends about $300 a week and has accumulated $5.15 at last count.

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Some of these products look to earn a pretty decent number of Woolworths $. An $8 box of washing powder earning $3 ww$ for example. I'm not really interested in washing powder but has anyone noticed if anything useable in large quantities ever comes up with a good earn? Being able to convert the $ into qff pts could make it worthwhile.

Since it started i early 41C in WW Pasos.

But what was the price before WOW Dollars some of the items we have seen have increased in price with the difference coming back to you as WOW Dollars thus meaning you are spending a hell of a lot more to get them......

No idea really. I guess I should have included more detail. Is there anything that ever comes up that would be worth buying in large quantities?

Most of the specials going up this week run for 2 weeks. The SSO in my store is expecting about 3000 tickets to put up (combined across all types of ticketed offers). It's next week where there will be hardly any new specials, with the majority continuing on from this wednesday.

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

I'm with John K, the offers have been pretty good and we have managed to get back either in WOW dollars or real Dollars off our shop just over $250 in savings so far on a spend of approx $1220 and that doesn't even include the $50 in Gift Card 5% discounts

And yes, we did target our spending, last week bought lots of cheese with 30% coming back in pesos and last night it was confectionary with 20% coming back. I might add however that everything we did buy was planned as it was stuff we are stocking up for christmas

The last few weeks with one glorious exception is the best I have ever done out of WOW shopping so no hurry for the scheme to revert back to points. Though it has also been good to get points on top of above over the last few weeks

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

So is it better than flybuys now revised.....is it better to get the $10 than the 850 points?
Article is in The Age online!

Flybuys is simple in that it's 0.4 EY Guest miles per $ spent at Coles (no minimum spend) + the various bonus offers. I've earnt about 4k EY guest miles in about 6 weeks.
I still can't work out with WW if you receive WW$ for non - orange ticketed items? If I spend $30 at WW on non orange items what do I earn?

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

The new program is sh*te JohnK. you can only earn WW Paseos on the products WW want you to buy. and those products are very hard to find. Thats the biggest flaw in the system..
It's not that bad. We had $35 off in targetted offers between 2 accounts and then the bonus Woolworths dollars on chocolate and another $1.90 bonus Woolworths dollars on bread that was already discounted by $1.90. ;)

As I keep saying these savings are quite good and I know there won't always be targetted offers.

Only way to earn WoW$ (currently) are spend on items with orange tickets or total spend with a targeted offer.

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

If the targeted offers keep coming Woollies is back in front.
For 2 weeks $5 if a $10 spend,a $5 top up and $10 if $10 spend at Big W.So all up $41 spend for $25 WW pesos. Now if you get 870 QFF points per $10 in pesos that's 2175 QFF points for $41 spend. As against 11 with old scheme or 41 FB points.

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Spent $260 odd last week on a regular shop (first time at ww for a while) and earnt a grand total of $0.20 pesos.

Only reason I earnt anything at all was due to buying an orange sticker 2ltr Milk for $2.00 instead of the regular (no orange sticker) 3ltr for $3.00 we normally buy.

I feel so rewarded.

I thought you can still earn QFF points until Dec 31st?

I got a targeted offer - $30 per week gets you WW$5. Max of two weeks. So if I buy $60 worth of groceries, I get WW$10 which can be converted into 870 QFF points at some time next year.
An effective value of 14.5 points per dollar sounds good to me - is there something I'm missing out on?
Looks like your discount is automatically applied, so if I am at a balance of WW$10 and then use the card on a purchase greater than $10 - that gets automatically deducted from my shop and then the 870 QFF points is lost, no? That is, if I use it before the 870 points conversion "offer" kicks in....

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Correct, but you have to use your old card.

Once you use the new card, it means you accept the new lack of rewards

I can't see how that's possible when the barcodes and numbers on the old and new cards are exactly the same.

The new cards have the same barcode as the old cards. It doesn't matter which one you use.
