I love the new Woolworths rewards program without the QFF points. Much rather have the $ discount over QFF points that cannot be used for awards I want.

How come? What were you not able to do with your QFF points?

Have never quite understood JohnK's reasoning for not using his points to upgrade his whY fares. He seems to prefer hoarding for some around the world Y trips. Sounds painful to me ;).

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Points on fuel end this year.

Can I swap my fuel discount for Qantas Points?
Yes, you can — but only until 31 December 2015. If you haven't already set this up and would like to, contact us via one of the methods below. Please note that if your preference is currently set to Qantas Points, it will automatically revert to fuel discounts after 31 December 2015.

Woolworths Rewards

While I would prefer to have QF points back in some form than not at all, it really is a case of too little, too late for me. I have already switched my loyalty to Coles where I'm now happily raking in the Flybuys points (which I plan to convert to Etihad Guest miles).

I don't even have a Woolworthless Rewards card anymore. And while Woolies Dollars are still only earned on a limited range of orange ticketed cough, I won't be in a hurry to get a new one.

I am exactly the same- very happy with the simplicity of the new flybuys

... use them I believe.

He has publicly stated there's over a million in his account - I reckon as a rule of thumb it costs in the order of 1¢ in +++ to redeem 1 QFF point, so there's an inhibiting cost of ~$10,000.00 to redeem them.

Fly buys is easy. Swipe the card and at some stage you redeem for $10 off. All automated at checkout. WW? Cant be bothered. I have around $1.50 pesos on my card after ~$500 ish shop. But I am moving to Foodland anyway where at least the brand products I want to buy are available.

It doesn't cost a cent to use them for upgrades.

Data point.

A trip that starts tomorrow :D cost 1,248,000 QFFP + $2,642.

That's because they're very different programs. Flybuys rewards everyday spend with a simple formula, WW only rewards you for selected products that WW chooses, with complex formulas.

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Earned 5 woolworthless dollars today for spending $30 (had to get some on sale box pavlova).

Will be interesting to see if/when it posts.

Also need to figure out how to stop the auto redemptions so I can buy QF points with my rupiah instead.

they aren't auto redemptions. The check out operator has to manually apply the $10 discount. Well they have for the WWR$30 that we've redeemed so far.

Perhaps because they cost Woolowrths more than 1 cent each?

Wash your mouth out!
I expressed the view that QFF points were sold wholesale for more than 1 cent each. I was assured that they were sold for 0.8 cents a piece.

For course that isn't the whole story since the spend to earn WWR$10 is highly variable. My experience so far has ranged from WWR$20 for $100 spend to WWR$8 for $1000+ spend. On those numbers they should be able to give points out @1 cent each.

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Just using your old card gives access to the new system rewards and also the old system QFF rewards (until cob 31 Dec 2015).

as does using the new card.

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

I might see how the 'upgraded' (or is it 'enhanced'?) EDR works, given that I have the princely sum of $3.01 in Flybuys and I have been trying :-)

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

I got the email as well this morning - I suppose it is better than what we have now but the crux of the problem still remains. :-|

Woolies Pesos are only earned on a few select products, most of which I will not buy. With EDR we earned QFF points for every dollar spent over $30 no matter which groceries were purchased.

FlyBuys now has the distinct advantage of points being earned for all purchase whilst Woolies will only award points/Pesos for some (very few actually). The flood of targeted offers gives Pesos for just about all purchases and if Woolies want a real loyalty program they need to ensure that their customers get recognition for shopping at their stores, not just for items self selected by Woolies.

I will take up the option of converting Pesos to QFF points but am annoyed that I cannot opt in to this now instead of 'mid next year'.

Re: Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

so if I am at a balance of WW$10 and then use the card on a purchase greater than $10 - that gets automatically deducted from my shop and then the 870 QFF points is lost, no?

That is correct - if you swipe your WOW-card when it holds a W$10 credit it will appy that credit automatically if your grocery spend is at least $10. So be warned - if you are intending to hold over that credit until the 870 QFF trade comes along you'd better be shopping at $9.99 total spend or less per shop.
