All of group one should have their packages now except kpc.

kpc,

Your pack was sent registered post today and unless Ive got it wrong is now correct though I had to substitute one of my own 'Welcome to Hilton' cards as one was missing :!:
A nice gesture Bill which I appreciate.

I'm being really polite by saying the HPC is hopeless though a lot of us have known that for some years. In an oblique reference via email today I was told 'The missing cards will be sent to you as soon as possible. This is not normal to find $99 cards missing however I am happy to replace the five and send to you as soon as possible.'

I find this personally offensive as the implication is that I have taken these cards.

I'm not happy :!:
This ongoing series of stuff ups by HPC doesn't inspire a lot of confidence with the program:shock:. Bill, maybe someone in HPC feels that after the 1st 4 corporate members who will get 2x $99 cards for a 2 year membership, the subsequent ones only deserve to get one $99 card per 2 years as they are only paying $150!?:?:

straitman, I'm happy to donate my 2 x 2008 $99 cards as I won't use them (I still have 2x 2007 cards with extended expity to use). That might help you get to use them as yuor replacements.

Lindsay,

Thanks for your offer. I've sent you a PM.

Danger & Andyc,

Amazingly your packages arrived today minus one $99 Welcome to Hilton card each.

I've asked HPC to verify that these packs are still valid as I believe they were sent prior to me advising that they were missing. I'll send them as soon as I have enough $99 cards to include.

This is very typical of the HPC; get a helpful contact and they are gone 3 months later.

At least with this I won't need to deal with them for at least another 26 months. :p

Bill, you must be over all of this by now. HPC seem to be out of control!
You got it in one :!:

The bright side of this is that twenty of us should not have to deal with them for at least another 26 months. :D

..... once the current mess gets sorted.

I just hope that we do not have any issues receiving the 20% discount on all published Hilton rates and these bookings count as normal stays.

Do not want to deal with HPC at all judging by what Bill is going through.

The Hlton hotels are generally good at providin the stated benefits. HPC itself is an outsourced marketing outfit, and this is the problem area. Everyone I know (including myself) that has had to deal with HPC has run into trouble.

To support oz_mark's comments, only once have I had an issue over HHonors points with HPC stays. Online claim fixed that!

As I posted earlier, if you book it online using Hilton "family" websites or over the Phone using Hilton reservations you stay is eligble for all appropriate amenities, points etc.

even if prepaid!

JohnK,

Just use the HPC web site and it's really quite easy and links through to the Hilton web site as serfty says..

Bill,

Just wanted to let you know that my HPC pack arrived late last week. Mrs YY alerted me to it on Saturday so not exactly sure what day it turned up!

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks again for your tireless efforts in dealing with HPC and getting this great deal for us. :D

I have sent the names and payment off to HPC for the second group of starters and have advised everyone via email. As it turns out there are now three people waiting for another group to grow. The only far way seemed to be to include people by expiry dates and the order that they contacted me so apologies to anyone of the last three who may be offended.

The deal is the same and the cost is $190 pp plus $4.30 registered mail postage. The expiry on second group is also the end of April 2010 so a couple of months bonus for most.

Names are:

1.Serfty
2.Ozstamps
3.Danger
4.kangagirl
5.kangagirl +1
6.kangagirl +2
7.Yada Yada
8.ANDREW
9.Neil Armistead
10.Andyc

Those remaining are

1.rwatts
2.paulcut
3.Johnsydney2000 from FT.

How have HPC gone in fixing up thier stuff ups?
Have all of group 2 be finalized?
Not sure if your interested in organising a third group of 10 as I am looking for 2 memberships and there are 3 from the list above who missed out and more may come on board.

Thanks for all your efforts

Micro-Mini MEL report

Good morning!
I am sitting at a desk, Pinot in front of me, looking out from the Hilton MEL to the runways and T2 Intl terminal.
A QF 717 jets off and a SQ 747 (Star Alliance on its side) VF 319 is towed from its parking place? I'm close enough to almost read the rego numbers. There are plenty of QF, DJ takeoffs/landings and the room is very well soundproofed.

Lovely room, BTW. Comfy bed decent size bathroom, much better than the BOS Hilton, which is very good. However it had an exec lounge. ;)

Checkin was a breeze and a relief after driving through St Kilda (up Punt Rd and then via Bell St).

We were given a great 9th floor King room overlooking the runways. (I figured they were all Kings; happy to be on the 'view' side as it is great viewing.
I was told the 1 grade upgrade was thanks to the HPC membership.

The agent was confused by my (lapsed) HH Gold card vs. the current status, but unfortunately that was the end of any HH benefits.
I was asked for the $99 card :( and we enjoyed a nice rest, trying our 2004 Mornington pinot finds before the comfort of the

A few questions:
- Does Hilton MEL have a lounge? Where? It is not listed anywhere I can see.
- We're flying at 1.30PM from an Intl flight #; what is a good activity from 9-12 today? AllI can see is an outlet mall on the Tulla. highway
- Is it worth looking for wineries out Sunbury way?

Is anyone at MEL this morning who wants to say hello?

Thanks to Bill for arranging the HPC memberships and cleaning up the HPC-created mess...

Cheers and Happy Easter.
Ben

Hilton on the Park did have an Exec lounge; I have used it at least 20 times in the last three years most recently in November. It was on the 18th Floor overlooking the MCG.

I note that you can not currently book an "Exec" room.

I do know the hotel is to undergo significant refurbishment, perhaps this is the start of that.

The Melbourne Airport Hilton does not have an "exec Lounge".

I think he is talking about the MEL Airport Hilton since he is also describing the airport activity viewed from his room. The one overlooking the MCG is not going to of much use to someone staying at the airport.

The one at the MCG is shut or almost shut now ? huge renovation. About time !
I think they also mentioned something about a temp hilton at the exhibition center running during this time ?

I did not may any attention...

Hilton MEL has no Exec Lounge.

We arranged a late checkout and drove to the wineries around Sunbury (some were open for tastings on Easter Monday).

On the desk I noticed Hilton is publicising a new Melbourne property - Hilton Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

I bet Crown (Towers)is not amused!
