You get the 20% off all rates available by telephoning Hilton reservations or any Hilton Family Web Site. THIS INCLUDES ALL NON REFUNDABLE RATES(INCLUDING ADVANCE PURCHASE).
I shouldn't doubt your advice and if that is the case it is certainly a lot more attractive than I was previously led to believe.

Is the member for a stay voucher different? When I called to book CNS Hilton I was only given 20% off the full flexible rate even though there was an advance purchase rate available.

The $99 is not supposed to be eligible for HHonors earning (although incidentals incurred during the stay may be), nor is is supposed to count as a "Stay". I have used this (or its equivalent) 3 times for my 3 years of membership and are 2 for 1 on earning points (on the $99) and stay credits.
So theoretically no HHonors points even for the $99 rate paid? That does not sound good but I guess we can't have everything.

Telephoning can always get you and the agent into confusing situations, especially if neither are really familiar with the HPC.

The online booking works well. Before that was available, I had given up trying to call to book using the 'phone. I'd simply book online, then call the HHonors a day or so later to have the HPC Information inserted into the booking. Even then, one or two Hotels sometimes had no record of HPC on check-in, but this was easily rectified.

YMMV.

I'd check out community buzz on FT or contact Kiwi Flyer himself.
I've asked Kiwi Flyer within the last couple of weeks. He does not have a date but is looking at CHC for the 'DO'

To the first Straitman HPC group:
I phoned again to Kristy the 'admin' person who couldn't help with the login problems as it is a 'marketing' issue.

A marketing person phoned back within 20mins and explained that most problems on login were user error.

In our case, he said that the 'master' membership number for our group was entered but not the individual numbers and names of some members.

After entering my name and number at that end, login if working, so press '2' when you phone (if this gets you to the marketing team) or ask Kristy to get someone to call you back to enter your card info into the HPC system.

I also asked about our expiry dates and asked that this be noted and checked.
Hopefully all of our memberships that are 1yr in error get this notation and we get:
access to Hilton Premium Club fixed at their end
the second $99 card and
our cards corrected to expire 4/10 instead of 2/09

Is it too much to ask for these problems to be rectified this week?

BiziBB,

See post #156 above. I believe it explains it all.

I'll add the following email from Meredith which includes her direct contact. I've deleted a few minor but appropriate bits to protect the innocent. The Email : email@hiltonpremiumclub.com goes direct to Meredith.

Hello Mr straitman,

Thank you for your time today to discuss the issues with your corporate membership.

Cathlene has advised me kpc will be reissued with a new pack. The new cards should arrive early next week in one envelope.

If for any reason you have any queries or complaints with the memberships, please ask the members to contact me and I will assist them with their enquiry.

Kind regards

Meredith James

The second week in November sounds good again.

I will ask him at the FT AGM in BNE next week.

One trick with this is to ensure you purchase something and book it to your room. Apparently, even though the rate may not be eligible, HHonors is supposed* to give points for such purchases. This can trigger the whole stay being eligible.

*This is often mentioned on FT in the HHonors forum, but I can find no reference on HHilton web sites.

The billing of meals to our room worked when we used an Entertainment Book rate (half the lowest regular rate!) at the Kauai Beach Hilton.

Good to know that you were able to do it locally, Serfty. Thanks!

BiziBB,

Your mail box is full again, again :!:

Re: Hilton Premium Club - 2008 offers

Bill, before you go up to Cairns do you want the incorrect cards returned?
Cheers
Ben

Ben,

I'm in soggy Cairns at the moment.

I suggest that everyone hang onto their cards until we get all the new ones. I've been informed that they were mailed to my house yesterday. Assuming they arrive I'll have them on Saturday for those presenting in BNE on Saturday and mail the rest on Sunday/Monday.

Serfty,

I have yours as it was mailed direct. (:?: ) I'll check it later today to confirm it is correct.

Cheers, if all is OK I can get it from you on the weekend. :D

My frustration continues with the Hilton Premium Club. I do like a challenge however this is getting ridiculous :!:

The short version of a long saga.

The missing package for kpc has been replaced though it arrived with only one '$99 Welcome to Hilton' card enclosed.

Eight of the second group have arrived. Two arrived at my house on different days then a parcel with the six others including kpc's package and the replacement cards for group one appeared on a different day.

Four of the eight parcels were/are complete and four have only one '$99 Welcome to Hilton' card. I've substituted my '$99 Welcome to Hilton' cards into two of the packages so there are still three incomplete. These three people have not paid any money at this stage (also frustrating) so will have to wait until the replacements arrive.

I'll contact the remainder of the first group and organize replacing the incorrect expiry cards in the next few days.

Thanks, Bill.
I'll check the letterbox today.

(Best of luck in getting the Hilton person to send what they are supposed to, plus a few extra $99 cards for good measure - after all of this hassle for everyone.)

Update.

All of group one should have their packages now except kpc.

kpc,

Your pack was sent registered post today and unless Ive got it wrong is now correct though I had to substitute one of my own 'Welcome to Hilton' cards as one was missing :!:

I will get to sorting out the remaining incorrect expiry replacement cards ASAP tomorrow or Friday.

I have the group two packages except for Danger & Andyc and I've ordered replacement packages and have been told they will be posted by Friday.

I gave serfty his package on the weekend in BNE and I've mailed packages to Ozstamps and Yada Yada. Again I used one of my 'Welcome to Hilton' cards to make up Yada Yada's package as one was missing :!:

As soon as I get some info from ANDREW I'll send his package and I'll pass on the package to Neil Armistead.

Kangagirl plus friends will get theirs when I get the second 'Welcome to Hilton' cards as they each had one missing :!:

In all the second set of packs were as messed up as the first with five of nine (incl kpc from group one) having a card missing and two complete packages missing. All the packages were meant to arrive in one parcel but arrived as one on Monday 18th, one on Tuesday 19th and a parcel of seven (incl kpc's) on Wed 20th.

I'm being really polite by saying the HPC is hopeless though a lot of us have known that for some years. In an oblique reference via email today I was told 'The missing cards will be sent to you as soon as possible. This is not normal to find $99 cards missing however I am happy to replace the five and send to you as soon as possible.'

I find this personally offensive as the implication is that I have taken these cards.

I'm not happy :!:

straitman, any update on my wrong expiry date card and missing $99 card?

cheers.
