Thanks Straitman; I also found a package addressed to me outside a neighbour's house.

Missing Card Problem: YES!
  • Just 1, not 2 $99 'Check in with this great rate' card;
  • 2 'member for a stay' cards.
HPC card is similarly 2mths short - expiry date 02/09.

Strange that some were duped with only one 'great rate' card but others received two.

Nice card wallet.

Hi straitman,

I saw post 124, but that was talking about the card being 2 months short (Feb 10). Mine is 1 year and 2 months short (Feb 09).

I am guessing they mixed mine up and provided a 1 year membership instead of a 2? That would probably explain why I only received 1 $99 card?
Thanks guys.

There's a few things I could say though I won't as this is a public forum :!:

I'll contact them first thing Monday morning.

Well i got my pack yesterday and apart from the Feb 2010 expiry I got everything else.Once again Bill many thanks for your patience and a very big thank you for your efforts.I might have to try getting to BNE for the get together and shout you a free beer at the QP!
Did I tell you I have both Scottish and Jewish bloodlines?

I only have Scottish so I'm 2/3 of the way there :!:

Hopefully I will have the new (correct) cards by Brisbane so can just trade them out with the people who are there.

Could everyone in the first group have a look at ther packages and let me know if you have one or two 'Welcome to Hilton' cards and if their expiry states 02/09 OR 02/10 :?:

I currently have answers from about half.

Should know by tomorrow night. Was away on Friday, so unable to check then if it had arrived.

Also, I'm happy to bring the incorrect expiry card to the FT meeting. Seems the easiest solution for me as long as the new cards turn up soon :)

In addition to having a 2/09 expiry and therefore just one $99 card, some of you may also notice the invoice is correspondingly smaller.

Thanks Straitman for your efforts to rectify the erroneous 1yr memberships.

Attn. HPC management: any goodwill gesture from HPC (a comped Gold/Plat status upgrade for us lapsed-but-returning Plats/Golds or a small gesture of points) would be a nice way to calm our nerves!

Also received an email this afternoon with my login details for the Premium Club website. Had no issues logging in.

Cheers :)

Mal,

Finally some good news then :!:

I gave them a serve this morning (by email) to which I have no response at this time. I can still login to the HPC website using my old membership no but can't using my new one. It's all a bit weird :!:

If I hear nothing by mid morning tomorrow, I'll have a chance to ring so will do so then.

FWIW HPC called me this morning asking if I wished to renew my annual membership for $245.00. I told them I had just renewed for 2 years with a corporate group. The rep sounded a bit mystified at this, asked a few more questions, and then left me alone.

A few hours later I received an automated email advising my website login details. Not sure if they are the same as last time or new ones.

I also received an email this afternoon of HPC login details.

I just wish that they had some nice specials instead of the Friday night $109 Parmelia Hilton offer.

The Avis discount offer is also interesting. Tried a dummy booking with the HPC Avis discount code and one with the QF Avis discount code. The QF Avis discount code came out with a cheaper rate. Has anyone tried this with different results?

Yes I received my email and logged in with no problems.5 day booking in Melbourne in April will recoup purchase price.
Once again many thanks Bill.

To those of you who have a logon - did you have a previous logon?

I've missed out on one booking & holiday with Hilton so far.

Too bad this is not run by the company, so that we could get it resolved when phoning a reservations number.

The perils of lapsed status!

I had a chat this morning with Meredith from Hilton Premium Club member services. I'm happy to keep working this however her contact details are below if anyone feels the need to talk to her.

Meredith James
Member Services Officer
Hilton Premium Club Australasia
Level 5, 18-20 Grenfell St Adelaide SA 5000
Direct : +61 8 8231 9211
Fax: +61 8 8211 8260
Email : [email protected]

Meredith assures that everything is being sorted and fixed. The 3 people (her numbers) who only got a single year membership will get the extra 'Welcome to Hilton ($99) card' with their new membership cards and all new cards will be dated for Apr 2010 expiry.

All the packages will be assembled and sent to me collectively rather than individually as was done previously. I'll then send them out once I'm comfortable that all are in order. To achieve this I will need to open each package and check the contents unless anyone has an issue with this.

Everyone form the first group should have their web access sorted by now. It is your membership number and then surname (first letter must be a capital).

I'll plan to deliver those that I can at the FT AGM in BNE on Saturday 23rd February.

I felt confident after this conversation that we are finally progressing with this.

Yup got the email. Quick Qs. How does the 20% discount on room rates work? Do I just book the best rate I can get online, and then the 20% is taken off at the hotel? (or does the rate already reflect the 20% discount). I don't suppose you get 20% off the $99 rate, do you? I presume I could use my 2 $99 stay cards for 2 $99 nites in a row?

Read first page of posts in this thread for your answer!

Particularly #1 & #3

Basically you use the URL which doubles as this thread's title; log in using your HPC member number, then enter HPC data in the comments box after booking.

More here:
And, NO, you don't get 20% off your $99 rate.

I think some of their promotional rates already include the 20% discount so no further discount.

The way I understand it is for normal bookings you get 20% discount on the best flexible rate not the advance purchase rate. In most cases the 20% discount rate is only marginally better than the advance purchase rate. Where the 20% discount rate comes in handy is where there is no advance purchase rate available.

Anyway I am new to all of this and still learning. When booking the $99 rate do we get HHonors points for the original room rate and not the $99 rate paid?

By the way is there going to be another Kiwi Do in November? I have found some $99 (NZ$113) rates available at the AKL Hilton.

You get the 20% off all rates available by telephoning Hilton reservations or booking using any Hilton Family Web Site. -

THIS INCLUDES ALL NON REFUNDABLE RATES(INCLUDING ADVANCE PURCHASE).

The $99 rate is not supposed to be eligible for HHonors earning (although incidentals incurred during the stay may be), nor is it supposed to count as a "Stay". I have used this (or its equivalent) 3 times for my 3 years of membership and am 2 for 1 on earning points (on the $99) and stay credits.

YMMV.

I'd check out community buzz on FT or contact Kiwi Flyer himself.
