I have committed ten people to HPC membership and have sent them all details of how to pay. I made the selection based upon the order of how people showed their interest, those that offered to wait, those that I wasn’t able to contact recently, any current memberships that have not expired and how the stars lined up yesterday afternoon. For ten people the cost was $A190 plus $A4.30 postage.

There are still seven people on the list and if all of them go ahead, and no others show interest the cost would be $A211.44 plus $A4.30 for postage. These are all for a two year membership and a significant saving over the individual rate of $A450 pp.

12.Ozstamps
13.Danger
14.kangagirl
15.Yada Yada
16.ANDREW
17.Neil Armistead

I’ll contact everyone individually and work this through with them.

Thanks enormously to Bill - straightman for the ton of work that has gone into this already .... an often thankless task.

I can recall doing it somewhere else a few years back for a year or two until a certain 'trekkie person' de-railed things.

I do know both serfty and I have memberships that expire end April, so it certainly makes sense for us to apply from May 1. Seeing it is darn near Feb, that date will roll around fast enough.

If a few more starters can be rounded up, all ten of us will save a LOT of money as is evident above.

12 months ago, signing up for two years seemed like the right thing to do. In a years time, assuming the offer is still around, I might be looking for people :)

straitman, again, thanks for your efforts on this.

How's it looking for the next group?

I have received 9 of the first 10 HPC membership packages. :D (not sure whose is missing yet) :( I'll see today if the 10th got separated in the mail or what has happened and get them into the mail for everyone this afternoon.

I'll also have a look at where we are with the second group and post that later today or tonight.

The HPC packages for the following people are in the mail except for kpc whose package is already pretending to be airline baggage and is off on its own holiday somewhere. They are registered mail so will need to be signed for. I’ve sent kpc an email to explain where what’s happening with his package.

So you sent yourself a reigstered mail package as well? Wouldn't it have been easier if you kept the package at home and not posted it again! ;)

If kpc's package has gone on a DONE4 will he be able to claim SCs and FF points?

It probably depends upon whether Australia Post are a LCC or a member of OW or :?:

I have sent the names and payment off to HPC for the second group of starters and have advised everyone via email. As it turns out there are now three people waiting for another group to grow. The only far way seemed to be to include people by expiry dates and the order that they contacted me so apologies to anyone of the last three who may be offended.

The deal is the same and the cost is $190 pp plus $4.30 registered mail postage. The expiry on second group is also the end of April 2010 so a couple of months bonus for most.

Names are:

1.Serfty
2.Ozstamps
3.Danger
4.kangagirl
5.kangagirl +1
6.kangagirl +2
7.Yada Yada
8.ANDREW
9.Neil Armistead
10.Andyc

Those remaining are

1.rwatts
2.paulcut
3.Johnsydney2000 from FT.

Any news about my package Bill?:(

A big thanks to straitman from me for kindly organising the second group! :D

Have other people in the first group received their packages?
I have not received mine yet ... patiently waiting.
Hope mine has not got on a scenic journey. :)

Nope, expecting to see it tomorrow. AP packages don't tend to move too fast when going state-state, and AP will tell you that it will take 4-6 days (max) depending on your location. If someone is in Melbourne or other parts of VIC, then they may have received it by now.

I haven't received my package yet but I expect it to arrive in the next couple of days.

I have already had the courtesy call for the HPC premium number and an email the other day with all the latest offers. The Parmelia Hilton $109 Friday night rate (plus a further 20% off) looks good only that Perth is so far away.
