I have found partner recognition on EY as VA WP to be excellent. I'd say on 75% of my EY Y flights, I was personally welcomed, asked if I needed anything before the flight. I would also be asked my choice of meal prior to take off as well. Towards the end of the flight, they'd say a quick hello...

Inserted O6 *G into NZ website for a dummy booking. Seat selection still allows me to choose 'frequent flyer' seats. Exact same seats available for selection as VA P/LH SEN as well for the exact same flight. I assume that O6 status (Diamond) still active then.

No passport control for transit pax - but there is security you must clear, and you must hold onward boarding pass like you said.

You'll be in the 1st lounge by 6.50am should you arrive on time. The 1st lounge is very close to transit security is (veer right after you get through). Put your name on the list for a shower, grab a bite to eat. Leave the lounge by 7.40am, its a 5 or so minute walk to the gates from the F lounge.

Yes, I redeemed EY miles on SN flights from BRU-DLA-BRU in J. Took a few days, and EY had to request SN to release the awards (showing up on UA website), but ticketed in a matter of minutes once SN complied. Taxes was 180AUD return.

Not so much a "Welcome back" per se, but I have found that on QF, as an OWE, I've had CSM's personally greet me at my seat, handed out bottles of water before departure, personally apologised to because our flight was running late etc. Nothing like that on VA as a Plat for the past 2 years...

It should be VA and not VS. FF # should be: "VA 1234xx_xx_". Status isn't reflected on the boarding pass.

I too got upgraded on a BNE-PER (A330) flight two days ago. As far as I know, Y wasn't overly full, and there were only 7 in J (including myself). Definitely feeling the love. First ever upgrade on VA, and on a reward Y ticket too.
