Don't transfer points (Velocity Email)

Ah don't beat yourself up. I would have done the same at some point; fortunately I got the 4m+ FB windfall only a few months ago, so the temptation hadn't fully taken me over. I was also hoping for EY as an escape route, so that stayed my hand.

How on earth 4m+ FB points..... just WOW :)

Mind sharing how you did that ?

This is so annoying! Why is Westpac not included again? I’ve have been waiting and waiting to transfer my Westpac Altitude point over for over a year now and every time Velocity have a promotion, it excludes Westpac cards.
I have 2.5 mil Altitude points and want to use for business flights to Europe from Sydney. Any suggestions?

Transfer the points and miss out on the bonus. Move to ANZ.

I suspect with the Velocity auto redemptions Westpac may never be included again. I think it’s been well over a year since they last participated in a Velocity promo. Seeing you’re not going to get the bonus you could transfer direct to Krisflyer from Altitude for 1 million KF points

Mind you, I can neither confirm nor deny that last time you may or may not have got the bonus anyway.

So can use it to get an extra 40k of Krislyer points or 400k of velocity points.

In either case good that I not cancelled my Amex ;).

If I'm not mistaken. He cashed up big on this promo.
Flybuys Natures's Table Dog Food 650 Points Bonus
Promo was basically buy 1 tin of dog food and get 650 flybuys points. Each tin was cost $1, hence a lot of people cashed up including myself and Coles had to limit the amount to 20 per household. That's probably the reason why Coles don't offer targeted bonus points for trying new products anymore after that incident.

Was tempted to drop a few thousand dollars for millions of points at one stage.

That's actually awesome, but no, it was not what I did. Guess I was barking up the wrong tree *I'll see myself out now*

4mll is a very round number... I remember seeing one person winning multiple fly buys promotions in the one competition.....4* 1mill FB points winner??

It was more than 4mil points, I'm just using 4 because of exactly that - a nice round number. You should be able to work out exactly how many points it was from my original screenshot :P

I have just heard from my AMEX RM that AMEX are considering a Centurion bonus ontop of the 40%.

If you have a Centurion then I would suggest holding off on transferring until month end to see what they come up with.

I revert as soon as I hear more or if someone finds out in the meantime, please let me know.

Thanks very much to this thread.

I had initially read the FB to Velociity transfer screen which implied transfer limit would be enforced.

Have just transferred all my FB points out to Velocity. Arrived instantly and the bonus was also credited instantly.

I’ve got stacks of Velocity points already and understand it’s gotten harder to redeem. Whilst these bonus uncapped transfer offers seem to be being repeated, I’d rather my points in Velocity where I can transfer them to KF.

I received an email from Amex this morning informing Amex Platinum Charge (and I assume higher) customers get a year worth of SG if transferring 250k or a year worth of WP if transferring 500k to VFF (along with the up to 40% bonus).

Amex/VFF have run this promotion previously and I do not like the ability to just buy status so easily....

My 2nd, 3rd and 4th bonuses credited a few hours after the initial 100k bonus. I did message them just in case, but looks like there was no need to fear.

Confirming I just got an email from Centurion:
  • Transfer 250,001 ~ 500,000 MR to Velocity, get 25% bonus, Gold Velocity Status until May 2019.

  • Transfer 500,001 ~ 750,000 MR to Velocity, get 30% bonus, Platinum Velocity Status until May 2019.
Unsure if Platinum Charge is the same. Probably is, lol.

Have a different message in my portal - it's basically the same as the bank cards. So up to 40% for 750k+ transferred. Naturally, I'll be transferring none...

Interesting that Centurion swaps out an extra 10% to instead dole out gratis status. That's pretty cool, if one isn't already at that status.

Mrs D, but not I, received a targeted Citi bonus of 20%, on top of the 15% currently on offer

I don’t recall receiving the citi targeted offer, but got an unexpected extra 20% on top of the VA 15% when transferring. Happy days.
