Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

Registered via the app, no confirmation email yet although the app is telling me that I've registered.
Same here. Registered via the app around lunch time, no email yet. But app tells me that I have registered for DSC.

Thankyou :)

I should make PC by then (April) so I'd assume that I'd get regular SCs after those flights.

If I only get regular SCs (not double) that's fine too, as mentioned I don't fly much so status isn't high up on the agenda for me. Was just moreso curious.
If you really not fussed or require SCs, then probably best you choose or should've chosen double points.

Not a big deal in terms of quantity of points for Mel-Syd flights, but few bonus points better than SCs that serve zero purpose in your case.

I too chose double points as have no need for SCs.

That's relevant for a couple of years ago but virals like tik tok have spoiled a lot of the 'hidden' stuff that can be discussed. Because once it's out there on such platforms the game is over. Thats ah, (not) progress for you. I made a similar mistake about Points club a few months ago. Rules of the FC.
This feels frustrating. Probably most of us have learnt a lot from AFF in terms of improving our travels, be it easier ways to obtain status, or other ways to make things better for us. I gained SG initially using the info on this forum and have picked up a few other things along the way. While I have not created any new knowledge, if I ever do it'll certainly find its way here, too.

It certainly is true that whatever good tips we share here, they may end first in social media as "QF does not want you to know this neat trick to top tier" and then it's on news.com.au as "Travellers amazed by this high status trick". Talking in acronyms won't protect the tips much, either, nor would attempting to close the forum for (paid?) subscribers only. There will always be individuals on the lookout for handy tips they can use to boost their standing elsewhere. And they don't always think of the impacts they may cause at the source or outside of their immediate sphere of interest.

Perhaps in future years, we resort to vague references like "Looks like the ways to get DSC are still the same than in earlier years"... This will favour those who've been around for longer and disadvantage the newer players. But it'll be either or: take the risk and talk openly, or be very vague (and wishfully think that other forums will follow similar thinking). I'd rather talk openly but will be more vague on some things going forward until the collective mood here is that things can be discussed with their real names or in detail.

Over 6 hours since I clicked on my option and yet to receive the confirmation email! Almost as long as that 15mins to get a tech issue sorted out...

Edit: Of course I try it again after the above post, and the email arrived in less than 30seconds!

Could be worse - you could be stuck with the call centre for about the 8th time today - while they work out why they can't book my fare as a Flex Y

theres no intro email. Just an announcement on the website. You do get an email after registering. But registering can only be done on the app.

Edit. Email arrived five minutes after I posted. Of course.

Second Edit. You can also do it on the website.
2pm Perth time - Still no email for me...

$10 says customer support were not informed or prepared for this at all.

Seeing a lot of random errors pop up today, more than usual. I reckon the booking site must be receiving a hammering today. Probably a good reminder to not leave your bookings to the last day of this promo — as historically it slows to a crawl.
Yep! The call centre is now telling me to book the outbound flights separately to the inbound ones to see if that fixes the error!
