Well that's a bit better than 38/11 :-)
Already on the 100/40 plan.

Definitely a winner out of FTTN node lotto

Don't forget anyone with Telstra NBN setup with wifi also has a Telstra Air hotspot created as a default.
This means anyone who is eligible for Telstra Air (anyone who has setup their broadband modem at home for Telstra Air ) can use your wifi bandwidth (not data allowance) at 2Mbps

I guess anyone else connected to that node spent the weekend wondering what had happened to it.....

Locals living in Ski town Jindy usually have a disdain for the "bloody tourists" who disrupt their quiet lifestyle, clog their roads, shops, cafes and ski fields. So nothing new when we now clog up their nodes

You mean those same tourists who keep many of the businesses afloat...?

just an inconvenient truth...
there is a rogue council ranger who is particularly active on the weekend booking cars whose wheels are on the grassy kerb. On the concrete is ok. But one cm over onto the grass and you get booked. Targets the tourists who park on the side of the road

Jindy friend has now told a family member to do what I did and come to his place and upload his data file.:)

Full Fibre could cost as little as Fibre to the curb.

"NBN Co is still quoting a cost of $4400 for FttP - the same cost they were quoting back in 2013, but if they just made the decision to use FttP and put some effort into getting the costs down, as Chorus in New Zealand has shown they can do with their 44% cost reduction over a few years, the cost of FttP would be very similar to FttDP. And that is even before you have to start adding in the eventual upgrade costs of FttDP and its impacts on long-term operating costs."
Prof Tucker said: "Surprising as it may seem, this means that if NBN Co wanted to, it could be rolling out FttP at about the same cost as its FttN rollout and its HFC upgrade. It is possible that FttP could even be rolled out at about the same cost as FttDP/C by implementing some of the new lower-cost fibre lead-in techniques being used in countries like New Zealand."

Wife and I were facetiming eldest daughter in Toronto this morning with the signal breaking her voice.

Told her it can't be our local Sydney signal as testing 101.72 download and 1.80 upload.

Well and truly had tail between legs being told her Toronto signal was reading 339.84 Mbps download and 123.64 upload. Made even worse given her unlimited data for $45 + taxes monthly.

What technology is giving you 100/1?

Facetime needs not more than 2-3Mbps upload to operate smoothly. Ive had facetime working well on 1Mbps. I suspect also low latency

Are you using wifi for your facetime. Sometimes the wifi channel is contented - neighbours using the same channel on the 2.4Ghz. So maybe if using 2.4Ghz try channel 1,6,11. Or try the 5Ghz Wifi which has a lot more channels.

.........................

Now my FW build has been pushed back 2x6months in the last 2 weeks. Now apparently Jul-Dec 2019. I suspect it wont be until 2021 until I can have anything better than 4/0.5
