Did anybody hear this PA on Virgin yesterday? The CS was instructed to read it out after the usual boarding announcement.

I think it's a case of DJ having a subtle dig as disruptions to pax were kept to a minimum & there were no lengthy delays I'm aware of.

I wonder if the QF Link flight FA's on the am flight to ROK yesterday welcomed the DJ pax who had been disrupted from the previous day & had to overnight in BNE?

I agree, seems more like PR than anything else... I was over at SYD T3 around 11ish yesterday, and everything was normal. Even more quiet than usual one could say...

Virgin had a few SYD/MEL flights cancelled yesterday, did Qantas welcome those aboard too

First time my statement had said "club" not just gold.

No doubt a benefit from a subtle IT back room "enhancement" of some sort......

Well I did stop the rogue scan after 4 days and only 5% completion. I don't really care if there is a virus on the laptop or not.

Removing AVG has done the trick as the laptop is flying along now with Windows Security Essentials. What has gone wrong with AVG?

Got a call from Velocity this afternoon to sort out my Platinum package. Was being explained mine got caught up when they resent out everybody new cards because they "wanted everybody to have cards with RFID chips".

Sounds to be like a new checkin system is in the works...

I don't think there has been a lot gone wrong with AVG

Ever since the latest release of AVG installed on my laptop it has almost been unusable. Took me a while to work it all out but when I uninstalled AVG the laptop was like lightning again and it is only a 4GB laptop.

Another case of 'If it can happen to John then why not?'. :p

And yes I miss XP. Hey, I even miss Vista....

Has Melbourne international added more duty free shops on the way to the gate or is just me? It is ridiculous!!

Since maybe a year, the 200 metre "walk of ignore" has been in place.

Even if I was interested in MEL duty free prices¹ I would not purchase on principle!

¹ It's, along SYD on most other Oz ports the most extortionate in the world from my vantage point. That's what happens when there is a virtual monopoly! Do you understand that Naunce Group? I won't buy from you! In the last year I have spent over $1K on D/F but not 1¢ in oz!

Yeah I haven't done international for a couple of years so was pretty shocked to see. As you said though, the prices aren't even value for money!

I'll be buying duty free on the way back, from either Vietnam or Singapore.

Bring Windows ME back, I say :p

I never knew you were a Windows.

Oh, you mean that Windows ME? Oh God...that thing had more crashes than a Chinese car safety testing lab.

At least I could run CIV II and Diablo on Vista.

At last. Someone finds a use and a praise for Vista. :p :D

Maybe I should have installed Windows 7 32 bit and not 64 bit. I really miss those games.

For a lot of part, that is a really good idea.

Of course, with virtual machines and / or multi-boot, nothing is impossible. But that takes skill.

Good idea. Principle has a very small credit limit; you wouldn't be able to buy much using it :p

More seriously, this is a ridiculous set up. In a perverted sense, it's actually a much larger and annoying version of Auckland's set up (but at least Auckland puts the lounge entrances closer to the beginning of the maze rather than the end. Important timing considerations when you're maximising lounge time ;))

Haven't you heard? Microsoft have decided to 'go retro' and release an OS that combines the best of Windows ME, NT and CE.

They're calling it...

Windows CEMENT.

:)

Yep...just add water and that'll allow you to smooth things over.

I sometimes used to purchase from MEL when those Skybus 20% discount vouchers were available, but it would be a point of last resort for me now. It's a ludicrous setup (though can see why they did it).
