Re: Vinomofo Wine Deals - Squid Ink
That's what I come up with two although the Tony Keys report I found here Wines outside the mainstream box - The Key Report is not for the correct year nor does it have the same score as the one listed by VM. It does however exactly match the Sam Kim review listed in the tasting notes at the winery website.
It is an incredibly strange listing blurb by VM given Allegiance say it was named after someone who battled cancer. For that reason I briefly thought it might be The Scoundrel tempranillo.
Has anyone tried any of the Allegience wines? They seem to win a lot of awards from Chinese wine shows which makes me think that is the market they are after.
The VinoMofo McLaren Vale Tempranillo 2015 https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/mof_-contraband-deal-tempranillo-2015 matches the Sam Kim review for Allegiance The Fighter, VM had the 2014 @ $8.90 a while back.
Incidentally, Tony Keys reviews are (mostly?) available on his site for free, but searching is not easy.
Sam Kim is a subscription site in NZ Wine Orbit: Sam Kim : Independent Extensive Reviews featuring New Zealand Wines and Wines of the World and has good search options. It seems more wines on VM feature his scores, maybe because of the move into the NZ market, maybe because he will review just about any wine sent to him if you pay his $34 per wine fee for doing so.
