Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

Hi another newbie here. So I have my newly minted Qatar Gold Status match confirmation email thanks to my Velocity Gold Status.. I also just booked a revenue return QF flight Brisbane Cairns with my Qantas Frequent Flyer member number attached to earn Qantas points and status. How do I arrange to take advantage of my new One World Sapphire benefits (priority checkin, screening, extra baggage, Qantas Lounge access) on my QF domestic flight? Can I also attach my Qatar Privilege Club number to the booking while still earning QFF points and status?

congrats....gotta use your Qatar membership ONEWorld number on your booking, not QF.
You earn zero QF points & status & in return enjoy the OW benefits like mainly lounge access.
Can't have best of both worlds, although some here will try for both in a cheeky way. But as one poster said, don't bite the hand that gave you, or something along those lines, ha!

I matched to platinum with Qatar and was wondering if we should be expecting to receive a physical card in the mail for this. Has anyone received anything?

Someone on a FB group posted up a pic of the card a few weeks back, but certainly I haven't received anything yet and my status match was confirmed 12 or so days ago.

I submitted nothing, heard nothing after a few weeks then had a request for a statement which I provided, and now still radio silence.

Everyone else i know who has applied received an outcome a while back.

Mine still hasn’t arrived despite my wife getting hers weeks ago even though I sent them both through at the same time. I sent a email through about a week ago and they replied that they were still processing requests but crickets since

Nothing for me either. Submitted on 18th, received no notification until I sent a number of messages through contact centre. Finally acknowledged receipt of documents late last week.

I was matched to platinum a couple weeks back but have pretty much written it off as I can’t see us being able to travel properly any time soon as per Joyce’s announcement though I get that he doesn’t speak for the government. Hopefully it drops to gold. Either way my plan is to book for Europe in May next year but take the flight in September and with any luck I get to use those qcredits for the economy to business upgrade if that will even work. At the end of the day this is a first world problem and I can’t imagine what some people who work in this industry would be feeling at the moment. For now I’ll stick to watching YouTube travel videos...

Me nothing. Got message via Qatar membership that I think meant resubmit info. English seemed a problem. Didn't give them a statement last time but was able to turn a screen shot into a pdf. About 10 days ago then nothing. I'm in WA and very grateful that we are isolated and borders closed. Don't want them open. Will be doing the Q Perth to London direct business eventually but not before a vaccine and all died down.So no longer sweating on the Qatar platinum but would be nice to have a 'one world' connection.
I think Virgin 2 may be a waste of time in the future.

I just got matched. However I got Gold when I’m platinum Velocity. Only has a screenshot of the card as I got bumped up and only a gold physcal card

My goodness. Yes must be doing a batch. Just got an email. Platinum to platinum. 5.55am in WA so will check with partner when he's awake to see if his is through too. We had to jump through hoops to get it.

Not that it will do much good but expiry date is June 27th so hopefully I can get some use out of it. I haven’t checked to see what the earn rate is like for QF to New Zealand as that’s about the only travel we will see this year

I finally got my Platinum status approved yesterday. Pleased to see that by deliberately delaying my response to them it extended my OWE status window to June 27th 2021. Now the question is whether I can actually user it before then.

Want to go Perth-Darwin-Perth before it starts getting hot again up there and when we can get back across the border with no quarantine, or only at home, beats me why WA-NT don't bubble. At least this Q Platinum/Emerald one world seems to give more luggage and club access.
Can you pick your seats when flying Q, like virgin before you pay?

Yes and on other Oneworld airlines (very handy for BA which is v expensive otherwise)

I got gold for my platinum, so oneworld sapphire only.

Wondering whether I just leave it as it is and be thankful considering there might not be any flying in the next 12 months or ask them about it...
